Northport auditorium

Northport Community Arts Center auditorium serves groups of all sizes for various events.   The auditorium is one of the larger ones in Northern Michigan and can seat up to 450 people. It’s also air conditioned for summer performance comfort. The auditorium is home to Northport Community Arts Center concerts, movies and stage productions and school and community events. It’s available for rent by community groups and must be reserved in advance.

Auditorium specifications

The NCAC auditorium working stage is 50 feet wide and 38 feet deep with a proscenium that is 42 feet wide. Stage equipment includes a 20 foot wide projection screen, front curtain, mid-stage and rear travelers (curtains), three pairs of legs (wings), cyclorama, scrim, many platforms and risers and two orchestra clouds. It can easily be set for a full orchestra, small jazz groups or theatre productions.

Auxiliary facilities include the control booth, a practice room, set production and storage rooms, hearing assisted equipment and a conductor’s dressing room.

concert auditoriumTechnical equipment includes a sound system with 24 channel mono sound board, monitor amplifier, house amplifier, two ceiling microphones for recording and hearing assisted, six stand microphones, three special purpose microphones and 13 wireless microphones. The lighting equipment includes a 48 channel, fully programmable light board, 96 dimmers, and 90 lighting instruments located on the catwalk, three stage lighting battens, two moving lights, digital projector and two sets of tormentors on the auditorium walls.

 

The NCAC auditorium offers flexibility that can accommodate almost any type of performance.
