This five-piece band, featuring Mike Fornes, replicates the songs, styles and moods of the Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot. Get ready for a visual, acoustic trip from the Great Lakes to the Canadian Rockies through the pains of lost loves and haunting melodies.

This year is a 40th anniversary of the loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald, memorialized by Gordon Lightfoot in song, making this performance especially poignant. This is Canadian folk music at its best, flavored with the tang of “Up North” living.

This musical comedy is a send-up of backstage murder mystery plots. Set in 1959 Boston, it follows the fallout when the supremely untalented star of Robbin’ Hood of the Old West is murdered during her opening night curtain call. It is up to Lt. Frank Cioffi, a police detective who moonlights as a musical theater fan, to save the show, solve the case, and maybe even find love before the show reopens, without getting himself killed.
There is singing, there is dancing, there are intricate plot twists and most importantly lots of laughs as you enjoy this “mysterious” romp.

The Northport Community Band’s annual Sousa Concerts are always the highlight of the band’s concert season, and “sold out” audiences have come to expect a very special evening of traditional band music, played in the famous Sousa style! Fast, moving, and exciting – and with a wide range of entertaining musical styles, the evening always includes many of Sousa’s best loved marches, and also always a couple of his lesser known works.

The original Sousa Band toured Michigan in the early part of the last century, and our NCB always includes a tune or two from their original programs performed a century ago.  Our band often plays from the same exact music that Sousa wrote for his own professional band – the most famous band in all the land!
