Branson On The Road

Sponsor: Leelanau Enterprise

Branson, Missouri, is considered by many to be the live music capital of the world. When you come to the show you’ll think the glory days of the Grand Ole Opry have descended on Northport. Not only will you get great music but a lot of hilarious comedy. You will think classic country, bluegrass, rockabilly and gospel music just can’t get any better than this. The stars include Debbie Horton, the only woman to have played guitar with the great Johnny Cash.  She has also served as the MC for Kenny Rodgers and Hank Williams Jr. and the Oak Ridge Boys.  Donnie Wright is versatile on many instruments.  His credits include performances on the Grand Ole Opry, the Presley Show in Branson as well as a long standing run at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.  Brian Capps plays the upright bass and his latest recording reached the Top Ten on the Americana Charts. The “Branson on the Road” show is a regular featured act on the national television show, “Midwest Country” on the RFD-TV network seen in over 100 million homes. This opening show of our 2011 series is one that will be talked about for many seasons to come. To order your Season Tickets, Flex Passbooks or individual tickets, please call our office at 231.386.5001, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm.

An Evening of Rodgers & Hammerstein

Sponsors:  Dick & Sherry Koenig & Barbara Bartley

Over 65 years ago, Rodgers & Hammerstein gave us Oklahoma, often described by critics as the finest musical in the Broadway tradition. In time, they would produce such additional masterworks as Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I and Sound of Music.

Our Evening of Rodgers & Hammerstein features music from all these great shows, with soprano Cat Hall, whose splendid title role performance in My Fair Lady last summer will long be remembered, Fred Szczepanski, one of our region’s favorite actor/singers, all together with Northport’s own Village Voices and the Northport Community Band. Don’t miss this! The Village Voices, the Northport Community Band and guests will bring us an exciting evening devoted to some of Broadway’s greatest hits! To order your Season Tickets, Flex Passbooks or individual tickets, please call our office at 231.386.5001, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm.

Ragtop Rodeo featuring Caroline Kovas

Sponsor: Sherwood Products
Co-sponsor: Thomas & Milliken Millwork

The grass roots following that has been blowing up after Caroline Kovas and the Ragtop Rodeo is leaving audiences begging for more as they blaze their way through the country. Caroline’s first EP “Moving On” was produced in New York and her most recent album “Going Cross Country” with the Ragtop Rodeo has brought her wide recognition as an artist and songwriter. She was awarded a Finalist Position in the “Song of the Year Contest” and her radio airplay has received critical acclaim. “A smoking combination of southern rock, 70’s infused guitar jams and straight up fun” should make everyone curious. Don’t miss this one. To order your Season Tickets, Flex Passbooks or individual tickets, please call our office at 231.386.5001, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm.

New Reformation Band*

Co-sponsor: Northport Lions Club

The NRB is truly an internationally famous group. They have performed from coast to coast, in Europe, the Caribbean, and South America. If you cruise on the Holland American Line you have probably heard them in that venue. David Oppermann, their fearless leader, will be here along with the entire NRB. Many of our NCAC fans have asked us to bring them back and we are proud to say “THEY ARE BACK” in 2011. We feel very fortunate to have them with us again so don’t miss it. Note: We found out recently that Dave Bennett will not be with them this time. To order your Season Tickets, Flex Passbooks or individual tickets, please call our office at 231.386.5001, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm.

Sunny Wilkinson Quartet

Sponsor: Northport Point Jazz Buffs
Co-sponsor: Fischer’s Happy Hour Tavern

In 2003, Sunny Wilkinson gave her first concert here on February 18. It was a cold and snowy night with terrible driving conditions. Very few were able to attend. It was a tragedy because we heard one of the great world class singers and jazz stylists ever to grace our stage. We have tried to bring Sunny back and, finally, 2011 is the year. Sunny has taken her place in that elite group of jazz vocalists who have stretched the boundaries and found themselves “one of a kind.” She has sung with many famous bands and artists including the great Count Basie Band. She has many recordings to her credit and they are all the best. Her gifted husband and artistic jazz pianist, Dr. Ron Newman, will be here too. These creative artists are not to be missed. To order your Season Tickets, Flex Passbooks or individual tickets, please call our office at 231.386.5001, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm.

His 2010-11 season includes concerts in New York, North Carolina, Illinois, Massachusetts, NORTHPORT, Michigan, Arizona, Connecticut, Ohio, Washington, California, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. The Chenille Sisters*

Sponsors: Jes Asmussen & Colleen Cooper & Biggs Construction Service
Co-sponsor: Bayshore Oil & Propane

The NCAC tries to bring back favorites and The Chenille Sisters are at the top of this list. These three uniquely gifted entertainers are blessed with heavenly voices, witty wisdom, and a great passion for connecting with audiences. They’ve been doing this since 1985 where they first merged and converged on a small stage in an Ann Arbor bistro. You must believe me when I say they have gotten better with age. These sweet and silly, serious and satisfying ladies will not disappoint you. In the NCAC, you have the chance to get up close and personal with each of them and you will never forget the experience. To order your Season Tickets, Flex Passbooks or individual tickets, please call our office at 231.386.5001, Monday through Friday, 10 am to 2 pm.
